And as per rule 3 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, and Knowledge) Rules, 2020, the Central Government may allow Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis by requesting entities, in the interest of good governance, promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them. Under rule 5 of the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, for the purpose of usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance.
