Press release regarding recommendations of the 56th Meeting of the GST council

The Ministry of Finance vide press release no.2163555 has simplified the indirect tax system by reducing the four existing slabs. Scrapped the 12% and 28% rates, retaining only the 5% and 18% slab and new rates will apply from 22nd September 2025. Please refer the press release for more details.
