The Directorate General of Foreign Trade vide policy circular no.05/2025 notified that spices are ineligible for import under the Duty-Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) scheme because they are listed in Appendix 4J of the Foreign Trade Policy-2023 and are subject to pre-import conditions, regardless of their intended use.
