1. (1) This Act may be called the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.  (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 5th day of June, 2020. 2. In section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, after sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely
