Previously FSSAI extended the time line for compliance to provisions related to labelling requirements up to 01st July, 2022. Various representation were received from various stake holders requesting to permit the use of either old or new names of pro-biotic strains for the product packaging as the taxonomy of several pro-biotic microorganism’s specified under Schedule VII of Regulations have been revised in line with global updating in their name. After due consideration FSSAI decided to allow the use of either old or new names of pro-biotic strains for the product packaging till further order, refer attachment further details
