DIRECTION UNDER SECTION 16(5) OF FOOD SAFETY AND STANDARDS ACT, 2006 REGARDING MANAGING AND REPORTING OF FOOD BORNE ILLNESS OUTBREAK (DATED - 26.10.2021)

All Food Safety Commissioners of States/UTs are hereby directed to ensure the implementation/compliance of the Guidelines for investigating and managing food borne illness outbreaks in India in accordance with the document on the Framework of Food Safety Emergency Response IFSER) System. Further, the Food Safety Commissioners are required to present the incidences and status of food borne illness outbreak in their states/UTs in the last quarter and action taken thereon in the meeting of the Central Advisory Committee under a standing agenda namely "the status of responses to Foodborne illness outbreak”.
