Andhra Pradesh
Retail enterprises can remain open 365 days a year for a period of 5 years, subject to conditions that: 1) Retail enterprise is a shop as per A.P. Shop Act 2) Employees are given compensatory and compulsory weekly holidays 3) Working hours should not be more than eight hours per day and forty eight hours in a week 4) Overtime register is maintained and OT is paid at twice the ordinary rate of wages 5) Employees working on a national, festival or other holiday shall be compensatory holiday and wages at twice of ordinary rate 6) Working hours from 6 AM to 11PM with minimum two shifts, with one hour gap for changeover period 7) Women can work in all shifts, provided that conveyance from office to residence is provided 8) Part-time allowed and rates as proportional to monthly minimum wage rate, retail unit cannot engage more than 25% of employees as part time employees 9) Wages to be only paid in bank account 10) All employees shall be furnished with an appointment letter, with one copy online to Inspector 11) EPF and ESI contribution by employer and employee to be remitted every month 12) Records like wage register and muster roll may be maintained in electronic form and be accessible to Inspector

Central
Amendment to The Payment Of Bonus Act, 1965
The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965 was amended by, The Payment Of Bonus (Amendment) Act, No. 6 OF 2016 released on 31-Dec-2015 and effective from 1-Apr-2014. The major changes by this amendment are as follows : • The monthly pay eligibility limit of employee is enhanced to Rs 21,000 from Rs 10,000. Therefore any employee drawing a basic upto Rs. 21000 per month is eligible for Bonus. • Also the bonus calculation ceiling is enhanced to Rs 7,000 (or the minimum wages notified whichever is higher) from Rs 3,500.
West Bengal
West Bengal Contract Labour Rules Amendment
As per notification published in the Kolkatta Gazette dated 4th December 2015, the Government of West Bengal has made amendments to the West Bengal Contract Labour (Regulation And Abolition) Rules, 1970 to make the validity of the license granted under Rule 23 or renewed under Rule 29 shall remain in force for a period of one year from the date it is granted or renewed instead of license being valid upto 31st December of the end of the year. Further, the application for renewal of registration has to be made three months before the date of the expiry of the validity of the License increased from earlier sixty days
